Director of Sales

Despite the pandemic, we continued to implement our strategy of “effortless convenience for the caterer”, and whilst this is a journey of continuous improvement, we have made significant improvements already.

Following an internal promotion, we now have a vacancy for a Director of Sales to help lead and support our field-based sales team, who are already well-established and successful.

This role will report directly to the managing director, work closely with other directors, the senior leadership team and department heads.

We’re keen to look for new ideas and different approaches, and we know that we can learn from outside our own industry, so if you are looking to make a significant contribution and want to work with a great bunch of people, and you have some great ideas to bring with you, then this could be the role for you.

Business Development Manager

Location: Oxford
Job Types: Full-time, Permanent

This is a field-based Business Development Manager role. You will be expected to manage and upsell to existing customers, find prospects and win new business within your defined geographical area: Cotswolds, Oxford, Gloucestershire. 

You will aim to exceed sales and margin targets, and identify category gaps, set objectives, and successfully secure new sales to existing customers to maximise average drop value. You will report to the Sales Director, and will be supported by a designated teleseller.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Achieve sales and margin targets
  • Win & retain profitable new business
  • Retain and grow existing customer sales and margins
  • Ensure regular customer contact to achieve outstanding customer service
  • Work with internal departments and suppliers to maximise sales, margins and product knowledge
  • Have a good understanding of your geographical target area to grow reputation and suggest ideas to the business
  • Ensure all relevant administrative and reporting requirements are fulfilled within deadlines set
Ideal Candidate:
  • Experience and evidence of account management and prospecting new accounts within the foodservice sector – winning and growing new business, retention, gross margin and sales growth.
  • Product knowledge
  • Organised, passionate and energetic, with excellent people skills and a customer-centric approach
  • PC literate (training will be given on internal systems)
  • Sound commercial awareness and business acumen
